How many "a" answers did you have for even-numbered questions? ___________
How many "b" answers did you have for odd-numbered questions? ___________
RIGHT HEMISPHERE TOTAL _______________

Left-Hemisphere Dominance (left total = 10 or more)

Your score indicates that you are generally a highly organized person. If you are sloppy, even your mess makes sense to you. When given a job to do, you like to approach the task one step at a time rather than plunging into it. If you are involved in extra-curricular activities, you are probably well-disciplined. For example, if you are a musician, you probably follow a practice schedule well. In the future, you'd probably do well in one of the following area: accounting, engineering, or computer programming

Right - Hemisphere Dominance (right total = 10 or more)

Your total indicates that you use intuition and creativity to achieve certain goals, rather than an outlined, detailed plan of action. You feel that too much planning tends to limit possibilities. If you are involved in extra-curricular activities that require practice or drilling, you perform well when inspired but otherwise do not enjoy the routine of practicing ever day. Chances are good that you are interested in one of the following areas: music, art, athletics.

Balanced Hemispheres (both totals = less than 10)

As indicated in the previous descriptions, left-hemisphere people prefer structure; right-hemisphere people do not. Your score indicates that you fall somewhere between these two extremes. When given a job to do, you may prepare yourself by making lists (something a left-hemisphere person would do), but the lists may not be highly organized (which a right hemisphere person may prefer.

  1. My brain is balanced, 8 for each side. What would that mean for me?

  2. That would mean you are a very unique thinker and have the capacity for both left brain and right brain function, and in our novel we will address that; keep reading Howard's Journal for more info =)

  3. A unique thinker! I like that, even if I'm not sure it's true.

  4. Thanks for your comments. Look for updated content in Howard's Journal to delve more into the capabilities of the brain. Please encourage friend's to participate: there will be further interactive questionaires to explore the potential of the human mind.

  5. The formulation of the questions, and analysis of responses indicates a probable adherence to the notion that Penfield, and Roberts were correct in their assertions about cerebral dominance, and brain frnction. Since most of the neurological, and psychological research in these areas has been accomplished with subjects designated as abnormal in some way, I'm somewhat skeptical (not cynical yet) about the veracity of questionaire outcomes. I believe that we have a long way to go in mapping this area of the body, and it's functions.

  6. Thank you for your thoughts very well said. While we are aware that the questionaire is not foolproof we are simply allowing people the oppurtunity to explore the idea surrounding our fictional YA novel. It was not intended to imply that we know every intricate working of the human mind, it was simply to generate interest and give people the option of coming to their own conclusions. Again this is a fictional idea so some things could be disregarded by professionals such as yourself but the truth is we just don't know everything the brain is capable of and we are just pushing the boundries giving people food for thought. We will have other questionaires coming up please feel free to comment with this singular idea in mind. It is a fantasy story (=
